want it, need it?

I love this -- makes me want to decide whether I want to go to law or medical school and get the heck out of journalism for good.

Gap...EURO

I like quite a few of the items being offered here. And the best part? A direct quote from the Web site: Please note, European sizing conventions cause this style to have a slightly slimmer fit.

GAP euro....check it out.

Ever heard of Chauncy Bailey?

http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/la-oe-morrison23aug23,0,7548298.column?coll=la-tot-opinion&track=ntothtml

"Daniel Pearl's name you know. Chauncey Bailey's, you probably don't. Both men were murdered presumably because of what they did for a living.Pearl was a reporter for the Wall Street Journal. He was slaughtered on video in Pakistan in 2002. Bailey was the editor of the Oakland Post. He was shotgunned to death on an Oakland street three weeks ago."

Not sure how I feel about this...

Not much else needs to be said, except to note that this actually exists.

Yum

I mean REALLY. These shoes cost more than my bike, and are literally more expensive than my car's resale value right now.
But......LOOK AT THEM.

F'd up

Crazy video of the bridge collapse. As you all know, I have a serious high-bridge phobia, so I'm sorry if this seems morbid. I'm amazed at what technology captures in this day and age.

Pour your bottled water habit down the drain?

Arthur Caplan, PhD, says:

Fancy-pants bistros are awash in fizzy water from San Gimignano in Italy, still waters from French springs, mountain water from Norway and water that is supposedly captured from the waterfalls of Fiji.
So at a fashionable eatery, I asked for tap water. Eyeballs rolled, but I was right in my request. Why? Because it’s time for those of us who care about the environment and are concerned about global warming to stop buying and drinking bottled water.

Banana picks

Here's what I'm liking from Banana for the fall, though I was a little disappointed to still be seeing animal prints and short shift dresses that are very last season in the offerings.

Yum, yum, yum

This looks luscious.
Here is what Lancome has to say about it:

Unique and alluring, all of your friends will be guessing what this mysterious product is. Kiss and tell them that it is the latest sensorial experience that softens and moisturizes your lips. Referred to as a “bubble balm” by Gucci, the cushiony applicator is firm and bouncy like pillow. Massage it into lips to condition them before lipstick application or wear it alone to deposit a light, shimmery film for kissable pouts. Lips will be enveloped in a wonderful coconut milk fragrance to boot. Available in one limited edition color, Rose Marshmallow.

Gorbachev.....

Is the new face of Louis Vuitton.

Check Gorby out.

T-shirts without borders

Saw this on Daily Candy, just to give credit where it's due. But I like these shirts and had to pass them on. It benefits Reporters Without Borders, and the statements they make are bold. I like the Burma one because it's the least known problem, but I'm tempted by the Beijing 2008 ones, too.

Shoes I'm feeling now

This could be an expensive fall.
