The New York Times plans to eliminate several weekly sections, including its stand-alone City Section.There are also discussions to eliminate the regional weeklies in New Jersey, Long Island, Westchester and Connecticut, and the Friday Escapes section as well.
The Boston Globe just made a similar move, nixing the City Weekly and dividing the Globe Northwest section between the Globe North and Globe west editions.
Happily some of the content will still be available online.
